Intergas is a Dutch-developed boiler brand sold in the UK through a network of Gas Safe installers, with UK-wide delivery and an advice line for householders1. Its combi boilers run from 24kW to 36kW, sized by the maker at up to 10 radiators and one bathroom for the smallest and 15 to 25 radiators with two or more bathrooms for the largest3. The distinguishing engineering claim is a single bithermic heat exchanger that carries both the heating and the hot water circuit, which the maker says lets the boiler condense 100% of the time in both modes5.

Prices are installer-quoted rather than published as a list, and the warranty is the part that needs attention: the heat exchanger carries a 10 year warranty across the range except the Rapid, which gets 7 years, but the whole warranty is effective only once the boiler is registered within 30 days of installation6. Miss that window and a 12 month manufacturers warranty applies instead9.

For a household, an Intergas combi keeps the home on the gas grid and on a gas supplier, with the usual electrical dependence for ignition, controls and pumping. What it changes is the number of parts that can fail, and the servicing and registration conditions attached to the cover.

Intergas boilers: a Dutch maker's range in the UK

Intergas Heating describes itself as one of the leading heating companies in the UK, offering a comprehensive range of heating solutions, and states that it has over 80 years of expertise and engineering experience in building combi boiler systems1. The products are developed in the Netherlands, and the combi range is offered with UK-wide delivery and an expert advice line1. The range covers a wide spread of dimensions and kW ratings intended to suit properties of all sizes1.

That positioning matters for how the brand is bought. Intergas does not sell direct to householders in the way a retailer would; the route to a boiler runs through an installer, and the company invests in that side of the market with free training. Its free boiler training courses are trusted by 1,500 engineers every year, and the boiler installation course is a free, one-day practical session12. It also runs training on air source heat pumps, hybrid air source heat pumps and renewable hybrid heating1.

The wider context is that condensing gas boilers are by far the most common boiler type in UK homes, so a combi from any maker is a like-for-like replacement for most of the housing stock rather than a change of fuel13. Intergas is a member of the Benchmark scheme, which exists to ensure best practice in installation, commissioning and servicing of domestic heating and hot water boilers in line with Building Regulations in England and Wales8. That membership is a process commitment rather than a performance claim, but it is the framework the logbook and commissioning record sit inside.

The range: combis, hybrids and the Xceed Monobloc heat pump

The core of the range is combi boilers, but Intergas also sells hybrid systems and a monobloc air source heat pump. A hybrid heat pump combines an outdoor air source unit and a traditional gas combi boiler into a single system, and the Xtend hybrid carries warranties of up to 15 years when installed alongside an Intergas boiler2. The Xceed monobloc is described as a monobloc system for simplified installation1.

The heat pump side has a cooling function as well as heating. Intergas states that the Xceed monobloc offers strong cooling performance with low cooling flow temperatures, and that it becomes a dual-purpose climate system when paired with an air conditioning system15. The Xtend monobloc is described as delivering whole-home comfort when paired with underfloor cooling or fan coil units15. That is a genuine difference from a gas-only installation, though it depends on emitters being present that can run cold water rather than just hot.

Intergas also publishes a homeowner guide to boiler types, covering six boiler types alongside heat pumps and hybrid systems, with efficiency figures and selection advice16. For a household comparing system shapes, the relevant site pages are combi boilers, system boilers and regular boilers, and the sizing question is set out in boiler sizing.

Combi sizes and prices: 24kW to 36kW

Intergas publishes a sizing guide rather than a price list. Up to 10 radiators and one bathroom points to a 24kW combi, and 15 to 25 radiators with two or more bathrooms points to 36 to 40kW3. The 36kW models are described as ideal for larger properties with at least two bathrooms and between 15 and 25 radiators, and the Xtreme 36 and Xclusive 36 measure 826mm x 450mm x 277mm minus the jig3. Flueing runs to up to 10m as standard, or 50m with the twin flueing option3.

On price, there is no published Intergas list price for a supplied and fitted boiler, so prices are installer-quoted. The figures that exist are for servicing rather than installation. Intergas services boilers at a fixed price inclusive of VAT for its customers, and the standard annual service rose from £120 to £150 on 1 July 202610. The cost of the annual service is not included in the warranty11.

Three things move an installation quote: the output and family chosen, whether the system type is changing, and flue or siting work. The 36kW models' twin flue option exists partly to solve awkward routes3. For wider cost context, new boiler cost covers the market as a whole, and boiler installation sets out the process and who may legally do the work.

The two-in-one heat exchanger: why Intergas boilers condense 100% of the time

The engineering claim that separates Intergas from most combi makers is the heat exchanger. Intergas uses a unique back-to-back, two-in-one aluminium heat exchanger in all its boilers, with two copper circuits integrated, one for heating and one for hot water8. Because the two circuits sit in one block, the boiler condenses 100% of the time, in heating mode as well as in hot water mode19. The ECO RF 30 is described as condensing 100% continually17.

The practical consequence is fewer components. The Xclusive's bithermic heat exchanger is made from aluminium with two separate copper circuits and removes the need for a diverter valve in combis, a valve motor, an auto air vent and a secondary hot water plate heat exchanger20. The HRE SB uses the same bithermic design with a large surface area and increased waterways21. The Rapid is described as having just 12 components and 4 moving parts5, and the HRE 24/18 Combi Compact is marketed on the line "less parts, more reliability"14.

Condensing is worth explaining because it is the mechanism behind the efficiency figures, not a badge. Condensing boilers are more efficient because they extract the heat from the hot exhaust gases, or flue gases, that would otherwise leave the flue, using it to pre-heat the water fed into the boiler22. A new condensing gas boiler would achieve an efficiency of 90% on the official comparison used in retrofit guidance23. Whether a given installation actually condenses depends on return water temperature, which is a function of flow temperature and radiator sizing, so the site's boiler flow temperature page covers the setting that governs it.

"when an Intergas boiler is used as a combi, it can condense virtually all the time it is producing domestic hot water which is unique within this industry"
Intergas Heating1

Warranty: up to 10 years on the heat exchanger, with 30 days to register

The warranty is a ladder rather than a single number, and the top rung is conditional. The heat exchanger carries a 10 year warranty across the range, except on the Rapid, where it is 7 years6. The Xclusive, HRE SB, HRE 24/18 and ECO RF 30 all repeat the 10 year heat exchanger term14. The Xtend hybrid reaches up to 15 years when installed alongside an Intergas boiler, and the company advertises up to 25 year warranties available across its product range1.

None of that applies until the boiler is registered. The product must be registered online at intergasheating.co.uk or on the Intergas MiREG+ website, or by returning the warranty card, within 30 days of the boiler being installed, and the installer must be registered with Gas Safe11. Failure to register within the 30 days results in a 12 month manufacturers warranty only9. The warranty on the boiler is effective only after registering it10.

Two further conditions sit alongside registration. The boiler must be serviced annually by a registered Gas Safe engineer in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, and the cost of that annual service is not included in the warranty11. If the boiler is in a cupboard, there must be enough room for the engineer to work, to the minimum area set out in the installation instructions, and Intergas states it is not responsible for removing cupboards, kitchen units or trims to gain access for repairs11. Damage or breakdown caused by inadequate servicing, deliberate action, misuse, accident, or third party modification or attempted repair that does not fully comply with industry standards is excluded11. The general rules are covered in boiler warranties.

Efficiency, hydrogen-blend readiness and smart controls

Intergas publishes efficiency figures at model level. The Rapid and Rapid Plus 32kW models are A-rated for both heating and hot water, with 93% heating efficiency and 87% hot water efficiency5. The Xclusive 36 and Xtreme 36 have achieved A-rated energy efficiency across both seasonal heating and water heating3. Those are the maker's own figures for its own appliances, and they sit above the 90% figure used for a new condensing gas boiler in official retrofit guidance23.

On controls, Intergas combi boilers offer OpenTherm compatibility, which is the open protocol that lets a boiler modulate in response to a compatible thermostat rather than switching on and off1. That matters because the regulatory direction of travel is toward controls as much as boilers. Official guidance for existing dwellings requires at least one of a flue gas heat recovery device, weather compensation, load compensation, or a smart thermostat with remote access with automation and optimisation24. The site's Boiler Plus page sets out those control requirements in full.

On hydrogen, the government consulted on proposals to mandate that from 2026 all newly installed gas boilers are hydrogen-ready, alongside proposals to improve minimum standards and to examine the role of gas boiler and electric heat pump hybrids in the 2020s and 2030s25. Intergas is listed among the makers producing hydrogen-ready boilers to the blend standard for the UK market in 2026. That is tolerance of a blend in the existing gas network, not a boiler that burns pure hydrogen, and no domestic hydrogen supply exists to feed one. The claim is explained in hydrogen-ready boilers.

Servicing, spare parts and what owning one means day to day

Servicing is a warranty condition, not optional maintenance. Servicing an Intergas boiler is an essential part of the terms and conditions in order to maintain the warranty, and the appliance and the installation should be checked and where necessary cleaned annually by a registered installer18. Intergas relaxed its servicing work during the coronavirus period, stating it would relax all servicing work as long as the service is completed within six months of the due date18. Independent guidance is consistent on the principle: get your boiler and gas appliances serviced every year to make sure they are safe and working properly, and only use a Gas Safe registered engineer26. During a service a Gas Safe registered engineer will carry out maintenance checks on all the key parts of your boiler27.

Booking runs through the support pages, by completing the form or calling 01527 888000, and service appointments can also be requested by email at service@intergasheating.co.uk18. Breakdowns go through the same number, selecting option 211. Intergas may ask the homeowner or installer to pay a deposit before a visit to complete the repair11. The HRE 24/18 Combi Compact is described as easy to service and maintain14.

Pressure is the day to day issue most owners meet. If the pressure drops below 0.3 bar when the boiler is operating, the water pressure value is displayed as a flashing digit instead of the time read-out, and the system should be topped up8. Normal system pressure is given as 1.0 to 1.5 bar on one page and 1.2 to 1.5 bar on another, so the two documents disagree28. The site's boiler pressure page covers the normal range and topping up.

Who Intergas Heating is and how to reach them

Intergas Heating Ltd is the UK operation behind the brand, describing itself as one of the leading heating companies in the UK with a comprehensive range of heating solutions1. It is a member of the Benchmark scheme, which ensures best practice in installation, commissioning and servicing of domestic heating and hot water boilers in line with Building Regulations in England and Wales8. It supports installers with product literature, a boiler installation course and hybrid air source heat pump training12.

Contact runs through a single number, 01527 888000, used for general enquiries, service booking and breakdowns, with option 2 for breakdowns11. Published opening hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12pm on Saturday29. Service appointments can be requested by email at service@intergasheating.co.uk19. The support pages carry warranty registration, product literature and the service booking form29.

For a household weighing energy independence, the position is straightforward. An Intergas combi keeps the home on the gas grid and on a gas supplier, with an electrical dependence for ignition, controls and pumping, and no remote operation without a broadband connection and a manufacturer's app. The hybrid and monobloc heat pump options reduce gas use but add a dependence on electricity and on the maker's own controls. The warranty depends on a continuing relationship with a Gas Safe installer and on annual servicing being booked and paid for. Alternatives that change the fuel are covered in heat pumps compared with boilers and heating and energy independence.

Questions

Answers here, and more on their own pages.

How do I register my Intergas boiler warranty?

Registration is done online at intergasheating.co.uk or on the Intergas MiREG+ site at myintergasregistration.co.uk, or by posting the completed warranty card. It must be done within 30 days of the boiler being installed, and the installer must be registered with Gas Safe. Miss that window and a 12 month manufacturers warranty applies instead.

What phone number and hours does Intergas customer service have?

Intergas is reached on 01527 888000, with option 2 for breakdowns. Published opening hours are 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12pm on Saturday. Service appointments can also be requested by email at service@intergasheating.co.uk or through the booking form on the support pages.

What happens if my Intergas boiler pressure drops below 0.3 bar?

Below 0.3 bar while the boiler is operating, the water pressure value is displayed as a flashing digit instead of the time read-out, and the system should be topped up. Normal system pressure is given as 1.0 to 1.5 bar on one page and 1.2 to 1.5 bar on another, so the two documents disagree.

How much does an Intergas annual service cost?

Intergas services boilers at a fixed price inclusive of VAT for its customers. The standard annual service rose from £120 to £150 on 1 July 2026. The cost of the annual service is not included in the warranty, and the boiler must be serviced annually by a registered Gas Safe engineer to keep that warranty valid.

Can I book a repair directly with Intergas?

Yes. Breakdowns are booked on 01527 888000, selecting option 2, and service appointments through the online form or the same number. Intergas may ask the homeowner or installer to pay a deposit before a visit to complete the repair, and it will repair an eligible boiler unless it is uneconomical to do so.

Do Intergas boilers work with a hydrogen blend?

The government consulted on mandating that from 2026 all newly installed gas boilers are hydrogen-ready, and Intergas is listed among the makers producing hydrogen-ready boilers to the 20% blend standard for the UK market in 2026. That is tolerance of a blend in the existing gas network, not a boiler that burns pure hydrogen.

How many moving parts does an Intergas boiler have?

The Rapid is described as having just 12 components and 4 moving parts. That low count follows from the bithermic heat exchanger, which removes the need for a diverter valve, valve motor, auto air vent and secondary hot water plate heat exchanger in combi models. Fewer parts is the maker's stated route to reliability.
