Hypervolt has started rolling out Multi-Mode Scheduling to all owners of its Home 3.0 and Home 3 Pro chargers, the company said on 8 February 2024, following the completion of beta testing1.
The feature lets owners set different charging periods, each using a different charging mode, according to both the time of day and the day of the week1. Hypervolt said the update responds to feedback about the difficulty of balancing schedules across different days and managing charging from home power generation systems1.
"No action will be required on your part to enable this functionality, and we will automatically convert your existing schedules to the new format"
The rollout has already begun and should reach all Home 3.0 and Home 3 Pro users within a week of the announcement1. Existing schedules will be converted to the new format automatically, with no action needed from owners1.
The company said it cannot yet offer the functionality on Home 2.0 chargers because of fundamental differences in that platform, and that it is working to provide it later in 20241. Hypervolt also said it is continuing work to integrate with OVO Energy's Charge Anytime tariff, describing promising results from initial testing with OVO's software development teams, with more news to follow when ready1.
Why it matters for households
Scheduling is the part of running an electric car at home that decides when a charger draws power and, in turn, what that power costs and where it comes from. A charger that can hold separate schedules for different days, and switch charging mode within those periods, gives a household more control over when the car charges rather than a single repeated pattern across the week1.

The rollout is expected to reach 100 per cent of Home 3.0 and Home 3 Pro users within the week from 8 February 20241. Hypervolt said it is working to bring the functionality to Home 2.0 chargers later in 2024, and that it will share more news on the OVO Energy Charge Anytime integration when it is ready1. No further dates have been reported.
